Step 1: With a pencil, draw an ellipse.
Step 2: With a pencil, draw 2 lines inside the ellipse to make a place for the head and tail, as shown.
Step 3: Draw the head and the 2 front legs.
Step 4: Add an eye and claws.
Step 5: Outline the shell as shown. Once done, erase the pencil lines.
Step 6: Draw curved lines inside the shell.
Step 7: Cross over the curved lines to create a grid on the shell.
Step 8: Inside each spot, add a dot.
Step 9: Draw some triangular shapes around the shell as shown.
Step 10: Draw a rock on both sides of the tortoise.
Step 11: Add details to the rocks.
Step 12: Finish with a shadow below the rocks and around the tortoise.
