This week’s doodle piece is a tribute to Bedouin tea—a symbol of hospitality and friendship.
“Tea on the Trail” is a highlight of our Spring Hike piece, which was inspired by a spring hike on the Shaq al Reesh Trail in Jordan.
I wrote the poem below to go with this doodle. I hope you enjoy “Bedouin Tea.”
Bedouin Tea
The kettle’s on the fire. You are welcome
On the trail In my home Amid the rubble
Sit, share, laugh Sip some tea.
Cinnamon, sage, cardamom Peacefulness, goodness, kindness
Something sweet Savor the moment
Habibi!*
The last drop of Bedouin Tea.
*Habibi is an Arabic term of endearment for a special friend.
