Simple tutorial for drawing cookie Zentangle patterns
Checkered Frame Pattern
Step 1: Start by drawing 5 horizontal lines.
Step 2: Cross those lines with 5 vertical lines, creating a square grid.
Step 3: Draw 4 lines, 2 vertical and 2 horizontal, creating a frame inside every other square.
Step 4: Shade in the corner squares of each frame.
Step 5: Add two small lines in between the corner squares on each side of the frames.
Step 6: Color in the small squares created in Step 5 as illustrated above.
Done! The first zentangle pattern is finished. Next, we will look at a chocolate chip Zentangle pattern.
Chocolate Chips and Dots Pattern
Step 1: Begin by outlining a chocolate chip, as shown above. Be sure to make a cute curl at the top.
Step 2: Draw a swirl inside the chocolate chip.
Step 3: Color the chocolate chip, leaving some negative space around the swirl.
Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 to fill in the rest of the square.
Step 5: Add some dots to fill in the space.
Done! There’s the second Zentangle pattern.
